I enrolled in the Conversations course after a difficult few months trying to talk with my mother about her finances. I didn't know how to start. The material didn't give me a script — it gave me a way of thinking about it. By the fourth module, I'd had a real conversation with her. That was something I hadn't managed in two years.

My wife and I had been managing money separately for years. Not because we disagreed, but because we'd never sat down and built a shared picture. The Cashflow program made that easier than I expected. We worked through it slowly — one module per fortnight, sometimes less. The joint budget template we built is still the one we use.

I came to the Legacy program because I wanted to understand what would happen to our family's assets if something happened to me. The inheritance section was the most useful thing I've read on that subject — in Thai, in plain language, written by people who clearly understand the real situations families face. The document framework at the end was exactly what I needed.

What I appreciated most was that the material didn't assume I wanted to become an expert. It assumed I wanted to understand my own situation better — which is what I wanted. I found the Conversations course practical in ways that most financial education I've come across is not. The prompts in particular were genuinely useful.

I work in a technical field and I thought I understood money reasonably well. What I found in the Cashflow program was that I understood my own finances — but not my household's. There is a difference. The section on record-keeping across a family system was something I hadn't encountered anywhere else.

I did the optional educational conversations as part of the Legacy program. I was a little nervous beforehand — I wasn't sure what kind of session it would be. It was simply a conversation, which is what I needed. Nanthida listened carefully and helped me think through something that had felt stuck for a long time. I left feeling clearer.

Three Participant Journeys

Composites based on participant experiences, shared with permission and adjusted to protect privacy.

Journey One — Household Conversations

The Challenge

A 49-year-old participant came to the Conversations course after years of contributing to her parents' household without any clear agreement about what that arrangement would look like as her parents aged further. The topic felt impossible to raise.

The Process

She worked through the seven modules over nine weeks, pausing at the third module to adapt the conversation prompts for her specific family. She shared the material with her younger sister so they could approach their parents together.

The Outcome

The two siblings had the conversation with their parents over two family dinners. They agreed on a clear contribution structure and set a time to revisit it in six months. The participant described it as "the most useful conversation our family has ever had about money."

Journey Two — Household Cashflow

The Challenge

A couple, both in their mid-fifties, were managing finances across three obligations: their own retirement planning, support for one set of aging parents, and occasional support for an adult child. They had no shared system and found their separate approaches were creating tension.

The Process

They enrolled in the Cashflow program together, completing one module per week over eleven weeks. Each week they set aside Sunday afternoon to discuss the module and apply the exercises to their actual situation.

The Outcome

By the program's end, they had a joint budget, a clear allocation for family obligations, and a shared filing system for household records. They reported significantly less friction in financial discussions — not because they agreed on everything, but because they now had a shared framework for disagreeing constructively.

Journey Three — Family Legacy Planning

The Challenge

A 64-year-old retired civil servant enrolled in the Legacy program after a health scare. He had assets — property, savings, and some family business interests — but no documentation that his wife or adult children could understand or act on if something happened to him.

The Process

He completed the fifteen-week program over five months, returning to several modules more than once. He used the optional educational conversations — one at week six and one at week thirteen — to work through specific questions about his family's situation.

The Outcome

He completed a family legacy document framework that his wife and two adult children each received a copy of. He also arranged to meet with a lawyer for the first time, using what he'd learned in the program to ask clearer questions. He described the experience as "arriving at a kind of clarity I hadn't expected to feel."
